The Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Alcachofa de Tudela (artichoke of Tudela) was registered by the UE in October 2001, although the Quality Designation had already existed since 1988. The geographical production area includes 33 locations on the Navarre Riverbank area. Artichokes have been cultivated in this region since medieval times.
